in between holidays lull

i love how the week between christmas and new years is totally dead. no traffic. not much work to do. nothing on tv. hanging out in your pajamas all day. i can't complain!

i'm back at work today, hence the time to actually post something. the only people here right now are the sales managers. hopefully it will stay quiet and i'll skip out a little early. it's not that i have anything to do, it's just that i rather do nothing at home than here!

i had a good christmas. lots of family time. lots. i think i'm good with that until at least the middle of january. i got many presents, although i asked for nothing. a few gift cards (b&bw, best buy, itunes, sephora), John Mayer Trio cd (of course), cashmere sweater (that's too freakin short so i have to take it back *sniff*), 2 bottles of Philosophy body wash from Sephora, my 2006 Astronomy calendar, a geek squad t-shirt from best buy (hehe), and some tire pressure gauge caps that are for freakin SUV's so i have to give them back to my dad. it was good :)

i ate way too much. must go back to gym. i said i was going to do it today, but with everyone being off, i think it might be crowded. i'll start back next week for sure, and i'll just go back to eating right this week. no more french fries!

sunday night i went to "Nathan and Jarrett's Intimate Christmas Dinner at Carrington Park." (lord, i hope i got the title right) it was so much fuN! we ate (and ate and ate) and drank a lot of wine and laughed about everything. i loved it. it's so great to have a small christmas celebration instead of the 40 people buffet that i'm used to. i actually got to hear and be a part of a conversation!

saturday i spent the day and night at my parents. we usually do a family dinner on christmas eve with lasagna and wine. during the day my mom and i made like 4 casseroles and then the lasagna. we talked about drinking alcohol. i'd have to say that was pretty amusing. it's fun that we're growing up and able to do and talk about more adult things.

saturday night, while i was asleep on the living room floor (on an air mattress), i got a call at 1:30a from mike. at first i didn't want to answer, so i let him leave a voicemail. i figured all he wanted to say was merry christmas. but he didn't. i called him back and we talked for 45 minutes. he misses me. he wants to apologize for being an ass. he needs closure. we have to see each other soon so he can say all this to my face. he didn't like how we ended things (like cutting each other out of our lives). he wanted to know if i was okay, if i was mad, or bitter. he knows he hurt me. 45 minutes of this! i agreed to see him and i said i'd call once he got back to little rock. i'm probably not going to call until after the 1st of the year though. i don't need this drama right now. i'm good. i'm extremely happy. seeing him and listening to him call me 'babe' and saying he misses me is only going to complicate things. i don't need him. i don't want him. i'll give him his closure. i just might say some really awful things as i'm walking out the door. but who knows. maybe we can be friends again. i had the most fun going to basketball games with him. we'll see. you know i'll say something here when we meet up.

i only have to work 3 days this week! i'm hoping phil will come over thursday so we can hang out a bit before he goes back to work and school. after this whole mike thing, i need a good distraction like phil!

this week should be calm. i'm looking forward to that. the nielsen book came in, and we didn't do so hot, so i'm sure there will be some interesting conversations here at work. plus apparently there were some surprises among the top performers. i'm just eavesdropping though, so i'm probably wrong. haha.

hope you have a great relaxing week as well. it's 1st Quarter already in the broadcast world, so happy new year to us!
