other stories i've been wanting to spill

i was so excited about getting the job, i didn't really take the time to write about anything else yesterday.

i talked to carrie yesterday afternoon. she'll be back in lr at the beginning of october and she's crashing here at my house until we can get a real apartment around christmas. that makes me excited too! i'm so glad my best girlfriend is coming back. it'll be pretty cramped for a couple of months, but i think we'll make due.

she was telling me this story about talking to steve last week and she let him know she was going to be living with me. his response? "man carrie...laurie is looking good now! she's lost so much weight and you can totally see it in her face!" that made me feel awesome! although it sucks that all the weight i've lost is in my ankles, wrists, fingers, and face. gotta get to work on this spare tire i carry around the middle.

tuesday i was coming home from cabot and i was kind of miffed that mike hasn't returned my text messages, so i made a stop at the gym to drop off the last thing i had in my possession that belonged to him. he was surprised to see me to say the least. and then he went into his usual "i've been meaning to call you but blahblahblahblah." i just said whatever and turned to leave and he was like "well it's like that now, huh?" and i told him that i don't have time to wait around for him to decide if we're friends or not. if he wants to have lunch, i'm always available during the day and it's his fault that he can't fit me into his schedule. and i'm tired of it. he said he was going to call me later that night, and i didn't believe him when he said it, and he didn't, so i'm finished with him. i have no reason to see him since he's got all his stuff back. and his birthday is now over with so i have no reason to text or call or whatever.

that's another reason why i said my new life starts on the 26th. no more mike, new roomie, new job (!), and probably some new people to hang out with. sounds good to me.

dad is stationed in baton rouge and i think they are travelling back and forth into new orleans. i have no idea what they are doing and he doesn't really report much back to us. mom said we should send him text messages since phone service is spotty, so i told him about my new job and he replied instantly. he won't be home until october probably...he's going to maryland at the end of the month to teach a course and then mom and him are going on a cruise to the western carribbean. must be nice to be retired!

if anyone wants to go watch the notre dame @ michigan game at 11am on saturday....let me know! hehe. i'm dying to get out of the house to see it. my email link is over on the left.

i can't think of what else i was going to say. things just seem to be falling into place now and it's such a huge relief. all i'm missing is a hot date with a guy who actually appreciates me. know anyone?
