thanks

i've been reading various blogs for the past hour and since everyone else is doing it, i guess i will too.

what i'm thankful for in 2004...

*friends and family (ok, just the immediate family that have the same last name as me...i still scratch my head and wonder how on earth i'm related to most of these people that show up for thanksgiving dinner)
*finding a new job...it may not necessarily pay as much as i dreamed, but every little bit counts. and they actually gave me a date for a raise, unlike my former employer that kept dangling the carrot and changing the requirements instead of just giving me the money...rar!
*good music on ipods (JZ v. LP on tuesday...)
*excellent weather, including the quiet rain that happens to be falling right now....
*michigan wolverines....even our basketball team is going to rock this year :)
*the minimal drama i've experienced this year
*my health and the ongoing weight loss endevour
*love <3
*blogs and their authors
*diet coke and the tropical smoothie cafe

i'll probably say something about thanksgiving itself and my trip to memphis sunday or monday. i've got something i need to take care of first...

hope you all had an excellent holiday!

the evil empire awaits!

i got the job at CC! wee! they wanted me to start today, but i didn't want to just abandon all my friends at equity, and i've got plans this weekend, so i talked to my new boss this morning and he said it was cool to start next monday. so yeah that's the major news i guess.

i went and worked out this morning for the first time in a week. maaaaan i feel like puking right now. that's attractive eh?

i'm watching msnbc right now. how about this crazy hunter that killed 5 people just b/c they were in his hunting spot? the only way he was arrested was because he ran out of bullets for his assault rifle! and people wonder why i'm so anti-gun.

and i saw that pistons/pacers game blow up friday night. i was waiting to watch the grizz take on the kings and the P/P game was running over. that fight was INSANE! considering artest had already been suspended a few games this season for fighting (and the season is only 3 weeks old now), he got what he deserved by being suspended the rest of the season. i think those fans that got on the court (and jermaine o'neal cold-cocked one of them) should be charged with assault. there is no reason anyone should be on the court that is not involved directly with the game. i saw on Telefutura (a spanish network) that one soccer team's fans got out of hand way too many times, so the league just made the team play in an empty stadium for home games for like a week. maybe they should do that for detroit? if your fans can't act right, well then they can't attend. everyone has to stay home and watch on tv.

cool thing about working at CC - they own the fox network here in town and now i get to watch the OC when it comes on thursday nights instead of saturday nights off of mike's tivo. although i think he's hooked on the show now too, so i may end up watching it twice.

anyway....i have lunch to make and a shower to take. if i don't get back here before thanksgiving, have a lovely holiday. i'll be kickin it at the razorbacks/lsu game friday afternoon and cheering for Dirk when the mavs beat the grizz on saturday :)

(what a sports filled post...you'd think i was some sort of tomboy or something...)
